Agustín Canapino leads Peugeot 1-2 in Santa Fe

Agustín Canapino won the second race of the Sante Fe weekend of the 2015 Argentinian Super TC 2000 Championship, crossing the line half a second ahead of his team-mate Néstor Girolami, who has now assumed the championship lead.

The second race took place during the afternoon of Sunday, following on from Saturday’s night race. With Girolami finishing second and Fiat’s Facundo Chapur down in sixth, the reigning champion has retaken the points lead.

Christian Ledesma finished third for Renault, just 1.5 seconds behind race winner Canapino, with Peugeot Junior Team driver Damian Fineschi fourth place, with the new 408 showing strong pace throughout the weekend.

Renault’s Leonel Pernía was fifth ahead of the aforementioned Chapur, with Matías Milla seventh for Toyota Team Argentina.

Chevrolet’s Norberto Fontana finished eighth, with yesterday’s night race winner Facundo Ardusso ninth, with the Chevrolet Cruze of Franco Riva completing the top ten.

The next round of the championship takes place at La Pampa on September 27th.
