Polestar Cyan Racing release teaser video for new car

Polestar Cyan Racing have launched a teaser video, tagged with a “coming soon” announcement today, showing off what appears to be a new Volvo touring car.

The team have so far confirmed their continuation in the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship for 2016, and will be entering their third season in the V8 Supercars Championship with Garry Rogers Motorsport next year as well.

The Swedish manufacturer has long been attached to a return to the World Touring Car Championship, last competing as a one-off in 2013 with the C30 Drive-E Super 2000 car, with Cyan Racing CEO Christian Dahl in late 2014 saying to TouringCarTimes:

“I think we need a global platform or an international platform to build the credibility for the performance car, and the best championship for that is the World Touring Cars. I think the new regulations are really good, and the global footprint is really good.”

Polestar Cyan Racing has so far released no official information about the teaser video or their plans for 2016 beyond STCC and the V8 Supercars Championship.
