Nasser Al-Attiyah enjoys first taste of WTCC machinery

Home hero Nasser Al-Attiyah was able to sample his Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1 ahead of this week’s Race of Qatar, an experience the driver enjoyed.

“It was a very good test this afternoon and a very good experience,” said Al-Attiyah. “I am quite happy as it is my first time I drive a touring car but it is good for me that I am at home and I know the circuit very well.”

The Qatari enjoyed a special dispensation to get a taste of WTCC machinery last night at the Losail International Circuit, a track he knows very well: “I think I have adapted very fast to the car and I will do the maximum to get the better result in my home race. The car is very good and all the team is great, trying to support me to the maximum. Many thanks also to QMMF President, Mr Nasser Khalifa Al Attiyah, to give me this chance to be here, at the final of the WTCC.”

The Race of Qatar will feature the WTCC’s first ever night race on Friday.
