Stefano D’Aste loses points finish due to jump start in Qatar

Münnich Motorsport driver Stefano D’Aste has lost his tenth place from race one in Qatar after the Italian was deemed guilty of jumping the start in his Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1.

A 30 second penalty sees him drop from tenth to 17th, promoting Lada’s Nicolas Lapierre to the final points paying position.

The other driver to receive a jump start penalty at the Losail circuit was Campos Racing’s John Filippi, who launched off the line from pole position ahead of the red lights going out and was made to serve a drive-through penalty in-race.
