Ferenc Ficza and Daniel Nagy confirmed at Zengő for 2016

Zengő Motorsport has confirmed Ferenc Ficza and Dániel Nagy as its drivers for the 2016 FIA World Touring Car Championship.

The two youngsters, 19 and 17 years of age respectively, join the Hungarian privateer team in a pair of Honda Civic WTCCs, replacing Norbert Michelisz, who has joined the factory Honda team for this season.

“There are drivers coming on a super-high level in Hungary and I hope I have two or three years left because the next generation is growing up really fast in Hungary,” said Michelisz. “I have a big confidence in these drivers but also in Zengő Motorsport as well. They’re a great team and give a big support to Hungarian talents. Without them I would not be in the positon I am now.”

Nagy drove for Zengő Motorsport in one round of the TCR International Series race last year at Spielberg in one of the team’s SEAT León Cup Racers, and has claimed two titles of the Hungarian Suzuki Cup.

Ficza also drove one race for the team in the opening round of the2015 TCR International Series. He also drove for Zengő in the 2013 ETCC season, as well as during the first two race weekends of 2015, claiming victory at his home race in the season opener in Hungary.

The team will expand to running two Honda Civic WTCC race cars in the 2016 FIA World Touring Car Championship.
