James Thompson back at Münnich Motorsport for Vila Real

James Thompson will be back behind the wheel of the Münnich Motorsport prepared Chevrolet Cruze for this weekend’s WTCC races in Portugal.

The Brit will drive his fourth WTCC weekend this season, currently placed 14th in the drivers’ championship and sixth in the WTCC Trophy for independents, with sixth place in the final race in Russia as best result so far.

Thompson replaces team owner and driver Rene Münnich, despite there being no clashing rallycross round this weekend as has been the reason for Thompson stepping in before.

The team has however not confirmed whether Thompson will continue for the remaining part of the season.
