Campos and Polestar fined for paperwork breaches in Morocco

Campos Racing and Polestar Cyan Racing both received fines by the FIA for technical breaches at the first round of the World Touring Car Championship in Marrakech, with Polestar picking up 2,000 EUR in fines, and Campos 1,000 EUR.

Ahead of the opening race, the cars of Nicky Catsburg, Néstor Girolami and Esteban Guerrieri were found to not have the compulsory chassis identification markers which associate the cars to their FIA technical passport.

Polestar received a pair of fines for their offence, with Campos picking up a single fine for their one-car entry for Guerrieri.

The fines top off a weekend of minor technical faux pas during the weekend, with Münnich Motorsport missing Free Practice 1 as they rushed to fit a pair of 2017-specification racing seat belts to their Citroën C-Elysée, while the RC Motorsport Lada of Yann Ehrlacher also failed pre-event scrutineering, but the undisclosed issue was resolved before practice started.
