Thed Björk reprimanded for Michelisz incident in Hungary

Polestar’s Thed Björk has received a reprimand for contact with Norbert Michelisz at the start of Race 1 at the Hungaroring, an incident which saw both drivers retire from the race while battling for third.

Björk was deemed guilty of causing an avoidable incident, by attempting to continue driving on the track with a damaged car, after his Volvo S60’s steering arm was broken in a first corner tangle with the Citroën of Tom Chilton.

The stewards also fined Sébastien Loeb Racing driver John Filippi 1,000 EUR for stopping in a dangerous place on the final lap of the first race, after he pulled out of tenth with a mechanical issue.
