Diefenbacher could join Ford

Frank Diefenbacher is on the move to drive the new Ford Focus in WTCC according to Autosport. The German was dropped by SEAT this year from their WTCC programme. Instead Frank could be on the way to join the Ford backed Hotfiel team as the number one driver.

“I´m up to do this, but at the moment it is up to the team. Ford is my primary target for this season and I am waiting for an answer.”

Though Frank has competition for the seat. Another German, Thomas Jaeger, is reported to be on the list for the number one seat. Thomas hasn´t raced since 2003 when he drove a Mercedes in the DTM. As for the second seat it seems that it is a three man battle. Michael Funke, Patrick Bernhardt and Thomas Klenke are all in for the second Ford Focus.
