Rosenblad confirms WTCC drive
The Swedish racing star Carl Rosenblad continues his international and successful racing career.This year he will be running the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC). “I’m looking forward to run a World Championship, it will be a thrill,” says the BMW-driver who will compete for the Independent’s trophy.
This year Carl Rosenblad enters his first world championship ever. The World Touring Car Championship is the former European Championship and will hold 21 factory race cars and 15 independents cars on the grid.
35 year old Rosenblad has 15 years´ experience of high performance racing with FIA GT, Le Mans and Formula 3000, just to name a few successes. Rosenblad ended up on a fifth place in the ETCC, Independent’s Trophy last year. This season Rosenblad aims for victory.
“The championship will be harder compared to last year’s championship but we will do our best to win the Independent’s Trophy.”
The season will hold ten different races in ten different countries including Italy, France, England, Belgium and Germany. Races in Mexico, Turkey and Macau will be added to this years´ calendar. “We will race on some new circuits and I’m looking forward to that. I’ve never raced in Mexico, Turkey or Macau before so that will be a lot of fun.”
