Yokohama takes over tyre supply

Michelin lost the contract to supply all WTCC cars with tyres. Instead Yokohama will take over the contract from 2006.

“Following an invitation to tender the FIA has appointed the Yokohama Rubber Company to supply the control tyre for the 2006 FIA World Touring Car Championship,” said an FIA statement.

The contract starts with the FIA European Touring Car Cup in October.
