New BMW revealed

BMW revealed their new WTCC-racer for the first time ever at the Frankfurt Motorshow. The racer is based on the new 3-series and will be introduced for WTCC next year. The biggest news is that BMW changes from six cylinders to four.

The new engine (320si) is on 2 litres and delivers 275 bhp at 8.400 rpm. Though BMW are reported to remain with the H-gearbox and not switch to sequential.

“I am sure that the new 3-series will extend the success for BMW by another chapter,” BMW Motorsport Boss Mario Theissen said.

Alfa Romeo are also expected to reveal a new WTCC-racer shortly. It is indicated that it will not be the new 159, but the smaller 147. Stay tuned for more news.
