Gené takes pole at Valencia

Jordi Gené claimed pole position in SEAT´s and his own home race. The Spaniard set a provisional fastest lap in the session´s early stages with a lap in 1:43.067. Later he improved to 1:42.778 on his last lap.

This meant also the first pole position for the new SEAT León on its third appearance.

His team-mate Peter Terting was 2nd fastest (1:43.083) and gave SEAT the whole front row. Dirk Müller´s BMW posted the 3rd fastest lap (1:43.277) as the session was expiring.

A sensational Robert Huff set the 4th fastest lap (1:43.295), the best qualifying result so far for Chevrolet. Tom Coronel took pole position in the Independents Trophy, posting the 11th fastest time overall.
