Alfa Romeo will use 147

It looks like this is the last season for the old Alfa Romeo 156 in WTCC. Next year Alfa Romeo will use the smaller hatchback-model 147. The manufacturer is signed up to WTCC until 2008, but any official word on the coming season plan is not out yet.

“We want to compete in the WTCC but at the moment it isn’t fixed. If we compete it will be with the 147,” Alfa sport boss Claudio Berro said to Autosport.

Earlier it was reported that the new 159 would be used. But Alfa Romeo insists on using the 147 for two years before evaluating their situation.
