Still hope for Lada in 2007
Despite the delays and reports of scrapped plans – it still looks like we could see the russian manufacturer Lada on the grid of WTCC next year. The initial plan was for them to be at the first WTCC race of this year at Monza, which later was moved to Oschersleben in June. But the car has not been tested yet.
The German team MTEC are contracted to run the cars in WTCC. Team manager Norbert Ruths is still optimistic and hopeful that the plans will go on for next year.
“There have been many changes of management at Lada, which has made it difficult to get things set up for this year. Our contract is still in place and we are hopeful that everything will happen for next season,” Ruths said to Autosport.
