Jan Magnussen confirms Macau

Jan Magnussen today confirmed what we speculated in earlier – he will drive the World Touring Car Championship finale at Macau for RBM. Magnussen’s team Den Blå Avis Fleggaard Racing is co-operating with BMW Team UK and the Dane’s mission will be to help Priaulx in the title race.

“This will be incredibly exciting: It is the last round of WTCC and it is so tight in the championships, both for drivers and manufacturers. It is going to be hectic,” Magnussen said.

The invitation for Magnussen to drive the race came from BMW Motorsport in Munich. Magnussen has driven the track in Macau before and likes it very much.

“The track in Macau is amazing. There is no room for mistakes; it is a big test for the drivers. The track is also very fast, I think we hit about 255 km/h.”

Before the race Magnussen will do some testing with BMW Team UK to get used to among other things the tyres which are different from the ones used in the DTC.
