BMW Spain out from WTCC 2007?

Rumours indicate that BMW Spain could disappear from the World Touring Car Championship next year. Marcel Costa, from Spain, drove for the team earlier this year but was forced to leave after only four races and was replaced by Duncan Huisman. The Spaniards results were four DNF’s out of eight races.

The reason for BMW Spain to pull out is reported to be that there are simply no Spanish drivers available or suitable for the WTCC. What BMW Italy/Spain will turn in to next year is unclear yet. Alessandro Zanardi will most likely remain in the series with the same team.
