SEAT getting ready for Macau
The SEAT Sport team visited the Albacete track to prepare for the final World Touring Car Championship meet, scheduled for 19 November on Macao’s urban circuit. The last race will be decisive for both WTCC titles – driver and manufacturer. SEAT Sport will do its best with six official drivers and the backup of André Couto, a Portuguese driver who resides in Macao and who knows the track like the back of his hand.
Couto spent an entire day in Albacete getting used to the car and adapting it to his racing style. He said “the SEAT León is a great car. It’s very effective, but what impresses me the most is its tremendous balance”.
Gabriele Tarquini joined him on the track, getting his car ready prior to the decisive race that could crown him champion. After all, Tarquini trails the current leader by only three points, and he is the SEAT Sport driver with the best chances.
On the second day of training, Richard Rydell and Jordi Gené took the SEAT León to the track. The Swede is another firm contender for the title; he is only six points behind, and with 20 points at stake anything is possible – this championship bout will make history with no less than nine drivers vying for the win.
At only ten points from the lead, SEAT is in second place in the manufacturer’s category. Therefore, every effort has been made in Albacete to get the cars ready for winning on the conditions of the Macao track.
