Magnussen looking forward to Macau
This coming weekend Jan Magnussen, England, will be in action for the last time this year. In the final of the World Touring Car Championship he will be driving his regular Den Blå Avis Fleggaard Racing BMW 320si E90, which will be entered by BMW Team UK. Even though the chassis is the same, the mechanics from Racing Bert Mampey have rebuilt the car with new parts, while it has also been given a completely new livery.
Big Mag will thus have to drive the car in the white and green colours of Watson’s Water, which for many years have been regular sponsors in the former Portuguese colony.
“I can hardly wait to return to Macau,” Jan Magnussen. “I’m curious, if the circuit is as interesting in a touring car as it was at the wheel of a Formula 3 racer back in 1994.”
“It is not only the street circuit that is well-known for Jan Magnussen. Also the special situation around the circuit, where no less than nine drivers can win the World Championship.
“I know how it feels to take part in an exciting finale. In the 2006 Danish Touring Car Championship I had a tough but fair fight with my rival for the title. Unfortunately, I didn’t win. But now I’m even more determined to deliver a strong performance for BMW this weekend.”
