Coronel no privateer in 2007?

Newly crowned WTCC independents champion Tom Coronel and the team GR Asia have been told by the WTCC-organisation that they are not allowed to run as independents in WTCC 2007 according to Autosport. Coronel won the independents trophy with a massive 78 points down to his closest opponent, Luca Rangoni.

Coronel has been for the entire season the best scoring independent, several times mixing in the top of the field among works drivers. SEAT Holland is backing GR Asia and it has been debated if they really were to be considered an independents team.

However, rumours have indicated that Coronel could be driving for the official SEAT team under SEAT Team Holland-flag next season.
