More tyre suppliers in WTCC?

The World Touring Car Championship could have several different tyre suppliers in 2008. Currently Yokohama is the sole provider of tyres when Michelin left the scene. The organisers and manufacturers of WTCC discussed the subject a couple of weeks ago. Seemingly the suggestion was not welcomed by several of the manufacturers.

“We are not in favour at all. All we see is extra cost. If you chuck different tyres into the series, it is going to make the equivalency more difficult to manage,” Ray Mallock from the Chevrolet team said to Autosport.
