Rydell testing for Aston Martin

Rickard Rydell seems more and more likely to be out of the Touring Car scene for 2007. Instead Rydell will return behind the wheel of GT-cars. During the past weekend the Swede tested for Aston Martin Racing at Paul Richard.

“The test was really good. It is a big difference to drive a touring car with front wheel-drive and barely 300 BHP compared to a rear wheel-drive GT-car with more than 600 BHP,” Rydell said. “To drive a quick and good car like the Aston Martin DBR9 with a top speed of more than 300 km/h is really fun.”

Prodrive are developing these cars, a company that Rydell previously have worked with. Most recently Rydell drove their Ferrari 550 at Le Mans in 2004.

“The Aston runs really well and it has better balance compared to the Ferrari I drove before. At Paul Richard I got to do tyre tests for Michelin, completing many laps and it was certainly great fun.”
