Turkey replaced by Sweden or Italy?

The World Touring Car Championship round in Turkey is reported to be out of the calendar. Already last season there were doubts before the race if it would be run after the controversial prize ceremony during a F1 race. The race this year could be replaced with a new race in Sweden, Italy or Spain.

Both Italy and Spain already have races on the WTCC schedule while Sweden does not. Last time WTCC visited Sweden was 2003, in the form of ETCC. The track rumoured to be used if scheduled in Sweden is Anderstorp and if scheduled in Italy – Misano.

The planned dates for the race are 28/07 – 29/07.
