GR Asia with Coronel & O’Brien

Paul Ridgway’s GR Asia team will campaign two SEAT León cars in the 2007 FIA WTCC. Tom Coronel, who claimed the 2006 WTCC Independents’ Trophy for GR Asia, is facing his third season with the team and will be joined by Emmet O’Brien.

Because of last year’s success, the 34-year old Dutchman will not be eligible for the Independents’ Trophy again, therefore he will be aiming for overall podium and point results, while his 25-year old Irish team-mate’s goal is to give the team a back-to-back win in the Trophy.

After racing in the first half of the 2006 WTCC with a Wiechers-Sport BMW, O’Brien joined GR Asia for the FIA European Touring Car Cup in Estoril, where he was classified second behind the team’s other driver, Ryan Sharp.
