21 drivers entered in the race of Brazil

21 drivers from 11 countries and representing four different car Manufacturers – Alfa Romeo, BMW, Chevrolet and SEAT – will compete next week in the season’s opening event of the 2007 FIA World Touring Car Championship, the WTCC HSBC Race of Brazil at Curitiba.

Among the newcomers are Mexican ace Michel Jourdain (SEAT Sport) and two young Spaniards coming from the GP2 Championship: Félix Porteiro (BMW Team Italy-Spain), who impressed on his maiden race with the team during the the 2006 FIA European Touring Car Cup at Estoril, and Sergio Hernández (Proteam Motorsport).

The latest addition to this impressive list was the 20-year-old Dutchman Olivier Tielemans, signed by Alfa Romeo’s N.technology team.

The major line-up changes compared to last year, were Augusto Farfus switching from Alfa Romeo to BMW and James Thompson from SEAT to Alfa Romeo.
