Gené does not agree with Puig

SEAT driver Jordi Gené does not agree with his boss Jaime Puig that BMW has got an unfair weight advantage. Instead the Spaniard feels that BMW simply had done their home work better.
“I don’t think we have to focus our attention on the weight reduction for BMW. Reality showed that it wasn’t so decisive in Brazil, or at least not as decisive as a lot of other little details that allowed BMW to win,” Gené said to Autosport.

Gené thinks that the field will be much closer at the coming race in Zandvoort but admits that there is much work left to do to catch BMW.

“Last weekend, with front-wheel drive, it was impossible to be better than fourth or fifth because BMW adapted better than anyone to the conditions and obtained an advantage. For the time being, BMW are two steps ahead of everyone else, but I’m sure that as the season continues, all of us will reach a similar point.”
