Alain Menu fastest at Oschersleben
Most of the drivers improved their lap times in the second part of the final test day at Oschersleben. However noboy was able to top the 1:34.956 clocked by Alain Menu and his Chevrolet Lacetti on Tuesday morning.
BMW Team Germany’s Jörg Müller was the only other driver capable to break the 1:35 wall; the German set a 1:34.967 that remained the second fastest lap over the two days, only 0.011 seconds off Menu’s.
Another Chevrolet driver, Robert Huff, set the third best time at 1:35.094, closely followed by Jordi Gené and Tiago Monteiro, the fastest of the SEAT Sport men.
All drivers covered a great deal of kilometres and, like in the previous test at Brno, BMW drivers clearly topped this list. Jörg Müller completed 129 laps Tuesday, for o total of 228 over the two days, which equate to 842.6 km or 16 WTCC races! Andy Priaulx and Augusto Farfus followed him with 215 and 211 laps apiece.
The next and last WTCC official test of the season will be held next week at Monza, on Tuesday and Wednesday.
