Thiessen criticises weight rules

BMW Motorsport boss Mario Theissen wants more stable rules in the WTCC. Recently Alfa Romeo, SEAT and Chevrolet got 25 kilo weight breaks after the first race when BMW dominated the race.
“We have a system that works quite well – the success ballast system – and sometimes I think we should be a bit more patient to let the system really come into place,” Thiessen said to Autosport.

At the last race at Zandvoort Chevrolet and SEAT won, perhaps much thanks to recent weight changes.
“I support the principle of performance narrowing, but if you are just a drivers’ championship and you equalise the cars you might as well have a one-make series,” he said.

The next WTCC race will be held at Valencia in Spain. According to reports the WTCC organisation is not going to change back the weights for this race they were before Zandvoort.
