Colciago’s times disallowed – team appeal

SEAT Sport Italia driver Roberto Colciago had his qualifying times disallowed by the Stewards after today’s session.

The Italian, who had set the 11th fastest lap in the session – and the fastest of the Independents – was judged responsible for not respecting yellow flag, causing an unvoidable collision with Félix Porteiro during his last qualifying lap and shoving the Spanish driver after the accident.

On top of this, Colciago has been fined a total of euro 3,500 and will be dropped ten positions on the starting grids for both the races of the next event.

The team have lodged an appeal, therefore the decision remains suspended and Colciago will start from 11th position on the grid for tomorrow’s Race 1.
