Ekblom pleased with qualifying

Fredrik Ekblom ended his first WTCC-qualifying as the best Swede and fastest BMW-driver.

Both Fredrik Ekblom and Rickard Rydell was topping the time sheets several times during qualifying, and looked set for the front row. But as the track dried up it was clear to see pole would go the the driver who managed to time his last lap best.
“I have to say I’m pretty pleased. The conditions was tricky but the car worked well. I set my best time on my penultimate lap and the tires were not quite good enough for the very last lap. Anyway, it looks good for tomorrow – I feel relaxed and just enjoys it all.”

The second best BMW was Alessandro Zanardi down in 11:th place and Ekbloms teammate Andy Priaulx ended up 15:th after a disappointing qualifying session.
