Rydell hopes to return to WTCC

After scoring a win in front of his home crowd in Anderstorp for Chevrolet, the former BTCC-champion hopes he can return to WTCC next year.

After being dropped by SEAT at the end of last season Rickard returned to touring car racing this weekend with Chevrolet. Richard now hopes he can get a chance to return to the series after scoring a win in his comeback.
“It’s amazing that we have a world championship race here in Sweden and I think WTCC will be stronger. There are only three world championships in motorsport; F1, WRC and WTCC. With three manufacturers committed for next year and possibly one or two more on the way in I’m certain WTCC will pass WRC and be an even stronger championship than it already is. I like touringcars and also the atmosphere here in the WTCC-paddock. I would definetly like to return.

The WTCC-weekend at Anderstorp saw 10,000 spectators on Saturday and 18,000 on raceday on Sunday.
