Priaulx worried about diesel rules

Andy Priaulx has urged the World Touring Car Championship officials to keep a watch on the current changes of the rules to maintain equality. One example is the diesel SEAT that won in its second ever outing. Yvan Müller was behind the wheel of the winning diesel SEAT Léon despite carrying a lot of success ballast plus the extra kilos for running a diesel.

“When they turn up the turbo boost they are really quick in qualifying,” Priaulx said to Crash.net. “I just like putting a lap together and putting it on pole, with or without turbo boost or with or without weight. I’m just concentrating on getting my job right but we have to keep an eye on keeping the cars equal.”

“It is getting difficult for people to understand, with one person driving a diesel with an extra 100kg, one is driving with a higher compression ratio and one is driving with a different front splitter; it gets complicated. Let’s keep the cars the same and make the best driver win!”
