Schumacher not to race for Chevrolet

Last week Ralf Schumacher said that he will definitely not stay with the Toyota F1 Team in 2008. After this announcement there were all kind of rumours about the German’s future. One of the rumours was that Schumacher had signed a deal with Chevrolet, giving him a seat in the WTCC next year.

According to the manager of Chevrolet Motorsport Europe, Eric Neve, these rumours are based on nothing. In Monza Neve said: “I have not received a call from Ralf, his manager, nor from Chevrolet Germany, so we have never discussed this opportunity. But of course this is a big compliment for the WTCC and our team.”

There has also been a rumour that Audi is negotiating with Schumacher. This contract would include a LeMans start and a seat in a DTM Audi for 2008. After Frentzen left the DTM last year the manufacturer is looking for a new star.
