Rickard Rydell joins SEAT for Macau

SEAT Sport have decided to bring in the Swede Rickard Rydell for the final WTCC race of the year. As we reported earlier the Swede could be on the way back to SEAT full time next year. In this race Rydell is going to support Yvan Müller in the title race.
“I’m really looking forward to joining the SEAT Sport team for the race in Macau. I feel right at home with SEAT and it’ll be good to work with them again,” said Rydell.

“My main goals of course are to support the team to win the manufacturer’s championship and Yvan Muller in the driver’s. Macau has always been one of my favourites because I like urban tracks, and coming back to one that saw me win an F3 race brings back fond memories.”

Rydell brought SEAT their first ever win in the European Touring Car Championship and then continued with the Spanish manufacturer for three years. SEAT Sport directo Jamie Puig is pleased to have the Swede back again.
“Rickard Rydell will always be a part of the SEAT Sport family. Don’t forget it’s thanks to him we got our first win at the ETCC. We are all tremendously happy to have Rickard on the team for the clinching race in Macau, and his experience will be very important for us,” said Puig.
