Free practice: Alain Menu tops tables

The final round of the World Touring Car Championship of 2007 is finally go! The first free practice session is completed and Chevrolet ace Alain Menu topped the time sheets at Macau. With three tenths down to his closest rival Augusto Farfus Jr. the Chevrolet team seems to be good on pace at Macau. All the teams have recived their equipment now after the freight delays that pushed this practice session from yesterday to today.

Alfa Romeo-returnee André Couto made a strong run and was third fastest, only 0.028 seconds behind Farfus. Championship leader Andy Priaulx headed a BMW 4-5-6 with Alessandro Zanardi right behind him and Jörg Müller one place further behind.

SEAT championship contender Yvan Müller was seventh in his diesel powered Léon ahead of colleauges Tom Coronel and Rickard Rydell. Robert Huff rounded out top ten, 1.4 seconds behind team mate Menu.
