Zolder could replace Anderstorp

The Belgian track Zolder could replace Anderstorp in the World Touring Car Championship 2008 calendar. The Swedish round has not been confirmed yet due to extra work needed on the track for final approval. But if the Swedish track owners manage to finish the work required, Zolder could still get its own round.

Zolder could take the date April 19/20 when the Mexican race originally was planned to be held.

“There is the opportunity to have an extra round on the calendar. It’s no problem to have a 12th round and Zolder would be a good track for the WTCC,” said WTCC boss Marcello Lotti to Autosport.
