N-Technology splits with Alfa Romeo
N-Technology have confirmed their split with Alfa Romeo and the FIAT Group after 18 years of working together. Team boss Mauro Sipsz commented the split:
“It is extremely poignant to see the end of such a successful relationship. Together with Fiat and Alfa Romeo, we have achieved numerous victories in motorsport including six Drivers, three Manufacturers and four Team Championships during the Alfa Romeo 156’s ten year history.”
The future plans for N-Technology are not revealed officially yet. As we have reported here earlier strong rumors indicate that Honda could be their new partner next year.
James Thompson who finished third for the team this year in the WTCC has re-signed and will continue next year. The second driver, Olivier Tielemans, has not got a new contract with the team on the other hand and is not expected to continue.
