Brazilian SEAT team to join WTCC

The World Touring Car Championship 2008 could get addition of an Brazilian team. The team, called ARCA Racing Team, is aiming to buy and run two SEAT Léon of 2007 specifications with petrol engines.
“We are in final stages of our project and we are aiming to be on the grid at Curitiba,” said team owner Alfonso Azevedo.

The team has no support from the Bazilian importer as SEAT-cars are no longer exported to Brazil. Instead the project is totally privately funded.

No drivers have been signed yet but rumor has it that Brazilian drivers Claudio Cantelli jr and Danilo Dirani could be behind the wheel.

Cantelli has previously driven International Formula Master while Dirani has driven British Formula 3 and ChampCar.
