Increased prize money for independents

The prize money for independent drivers of the FIA World Touring Car Championship 2008 has been increased. The new figure is a total of 384.000 € meaning 32.000 € divided to the top six independents of each race weekend. Winning a race will give 12.000 €, second 8.000 €.

The point-scoring system will be the same as the FIA WTCC: 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 points to the first eight drivers classified; however, double points will be awarded in the the two races of the final meeting at Macau.

Prize money:

– first driver: 12,000 euros
– second driver: 8,000
– third driver: 5,000
– fourth driver: 3,000
– fifth driver: 2,000
– sixth driver: 2,000
