Rydell enjoys first SEAT diesel test

SEAT completed a test at the South African track Kylami last week. Among present drivers was the Swede Rickard Rydell who made his first run in the diesel powered Léon.
“It was a pretty big difference to drive the diesel car compared to the petrol version that I have driven before,” said Rydell.

The test was conducted under wet conditions, but Rydell was happy with the test anyway and feels that he can be competitive in it.

“I am happy with the test. The engine has a different register, you rev the car to around 4.000 RPM compared to the petrol engine that you rev to the limit at 8.500 RPM. The diesel is also heavier which affects the driving style,” said Rydell.

The team has returned to Europe again where they during february will continue testing before heading to Brazil in the first week of march to the WTCC-premiere.
