Chevrolet aiming for Mexican podium
The Chevrolet team are looking forward with confidence to the Mexican round of the FIA WTCC Championship. The team’s extensive testing programme in Spain has ensured that Nicola Larini, Robert Huff and Alain Menu have the best equipment possible to chalk up their first points of the season.
Larini said: “I am struggling to make a prediction for the Puebla race. Although the results did not show this, the first two races in Brazil proved that we are competitive.
“I am confident that we can fight for podium positions.”
Huff said that the competition in Mexico will be tough.
“Mexico will be our toughest race, but the pace of the chassis has always been good there before,” he said.
“The three of us will have to capitalise on the fact that none of us is carrying any ballast weight.
“Hopefully we can finish where we deserved to finish in Brazil. We’ll just have to put our best foot forward.”
Menu agreed with his team-mates.
“I think that we could go home with a podium finish in the bag,” he said. “The least we have to go for is to score enough points to balance the fact that we didn’t score any in Brazil.
“We showed last time that the Lacetti is capable of running at the front, so we have just have to steer clear of troubles.”
