Yvan Muller tops Oschersleben day two

Yvan Muller topped the second day of World Touring Car Championship testing at Oschersleben in Germany. The SEAT-driver’s best time was 1:35.227 which was 0.260 seconds faster than his closest rival – Augusto Farfus. The Brazilian lead a BMW-train of five cars.

Jörg Müller in third, Félix Porteiro in fourth, Andy Priaulx in fifth and Alessandro Zanardi in sixth.

Nicola Larini took over the wheel in the Chevrolet team from Robert Huff who was fastest yesterday. Larini was seventh fastest in the Chevrolet Lacetti ahead of James Thompson. The Brit drove 30 laps in the N-Technology Honda Accord.

The real surprise was the pace of Jaap Van Lagen in the Lada 110. The Russian Bears-team made considerably more laps today compared to yesterday when they only managed 15 laps before the engine broke.

Van Lagen showed a promising form of the Russian car and his best time was “only” 1.2 seconds off Yvan Muller’s time.
