WTCC join the BTCC on ITV4

The World Touring Car Championship has announced an improved television coverage package, which includes terrestrial coverage in the UK.
The series this year has only previously been available on satellite television in Britain, but promoter, and satellite channel, Eurosport have agreed a deal for the digital channel ITV4 to broadcast coverage of the 2008 championship races.

Eurosport’s Francois Ribeiro told Autosport.com: “We’re very pleased to note that the TV coverage of the WTCC is growing all over the world with extensive coverage and new live streaming services.

New deals have also been agreed to broadcast the races in Russia, Japan, Mexico, and the Middle East, as well as extensions to the contracts to show the WTCC on terrestrial channels throughout Europe.

“We’re confident that this year’s season will deliver another success story in terms of reach and exposure around the world.”
