Dry track during warm-up session

The warm-up session for the races this afternoon at the Valencia track were held on a dry track. Spaniard Felix Porteiro set the fastest time in his BMW 320si. He was the only man to go under the 1:44 mark, setting a time of 1:43.855.

There were a lot of surprises during the warm-up session. James Thompson, who had been struggling so far this weekend, ended the session in second place in his Honda Accord. Privateers Sergio Hernandez and Pierre-Yves Corthals claimed third and fourth place respectively.

Yvan Muller, who will start from pole position this afternoon, only managed 19th fastest time. Gabriele Tarquini, who will start alongside the Frenchman on the front row of the grid, was 17th fastest.

The first race will start at 12:00 CET and will be broadcasted live on Eurosport 2.
