High hopes for James Thompson in France

The coming World Touring Car Championship race in the streets of Pau in France will be the first street race for JAS Motorsport with James Thompson in the Honda Accord.
“I’m very excited about the races in Pau. There is nothing like going through a couple of races to know where we’re at. After Valencia, we learnt a lot about our car and how we want to work with it from now on; so there should be a significant step forward in Pau,” said Thompson.

In their debut WTCC race at Valencia the team failed to score any points. But Thompson hopes for better luck at Pau and emphasizes the importance of the qualifying.

“The key to doing well at this circuit is to qualify at the front. This is more crucial than at any other track. I know that the team has been working non-stop at the factory since we raced in Valencia to make sure the car does well in France,” said Thompson.

The Accord has never been driven at the Pau-street track before and the team stands without any previous setup data. But despite that Thompson thinks they can perform well.

“The car is more stable than last year’s which should help us, I think the circuit is quite favourable for the Honda Accord Euro R Super 2000.”
