Wiechers and Tielemans to miss Brands!

Olivier Tielemans will not drive in the Wiechers entered car at Brands Hatch. The Dutch driver has lost his seat because his main sponsor, Advanced Life Settlement Management, failed to make the required payments. It’s the second time Olivier Tielemans will miss a WTCC round this year.

At Pau the Dutch driver was absent because of a bowels infection. At the French track there were already a lot of rumours that his absence was because of problems with his Dutch main sponsor. However, this was not the reason for him not driving at that time, eventhough the problems did already exist then.

Tielemans stated that he regrets the problems for the team, as he has become more than just friends with the members of the Wiechers Sport team.

The team and Olivier Tielemans have worked hard on a solution untill wednesday evening. The truck was already loaded and ready to drive too England. The team will now mis a round of the WTCC for the first time since the start of the championship in 2005.

The team is now trying to get a new deal, together with Tielemans, so they can participate in the second part of the season. The first race after Brands Hatch is in five weeks in the teams home country, at the track of Oschersleben.
