Tom Coronel stripped of fourth place
Tom Coronel has been stripped of his best time from the qualifying session today at Oschersleben. The Dutchman had fourth place on the grid, only 0.3 seconds behind the pole time of Rob Huff. But when his SEAT failed to restart after the weighing bay, his fastest time was deleted.
Instead he will start from a disappointing 24th place on the World Touring Car Championship grid in Germany tomorrow.
Another driver also getting penalised in qualifying was newcomer George Tanev. He used a GPS in his BMW 320si which is forbidden. He will start 29th tomorrow.
