Farfus wins dramatic race at Oschersleben

Augusto Farfus Jr won a dramatic race at Oschersleben ahead of the Chevrolet-drivers Robert Huff and Alain Menu. Huff held pole position but was immediately passed by the fast starting Gabriele Tarquini and Farfus.

Nicola Larini was one of the early victims as he was squeezed by SEAT-drivers Jordi Gené and Rickard Rydell. Larini had to retire the race because of the incident.

While Farfus pulled away in front, Tarquini started to struggle in second place. Huff managed to get past him and his team mate Menu shortly followed, making it two Chevrolets on the podium. Tiago Monteiro secured fourth position ahead of team mates Gené and Rydell.

Tarquini then got involved in a fight with reigning champion Andy Priaulx. The Brit tried to get past Tarquini, but the attempt ended in tears for both. Priaulx went in to the tyre wall and Tarquini managed to limp over the finish line in 23rd place.

Other top runners with problems in this race were Jörg Müller and Yvan Muller. Both had technical problems which made them finish outside the points.

James Thompson and Olivier Tielemans had a hard fight. The both tangled together which resulted in Thompson going off the track. The incident is being investigated by the stewards, as is the incident between Tarquini and Priaulx.
