Farfus heads BMW 1-2-3 in Monza
Augusto Farfus Jr keeps the pace in Italy at the legendary track Monza. The Brazilian lapped the track in 2:01.006 and headed a BMW 1-2-3. Team mates Jörg Müller, second, and Andy Priaulx, third, were really close. Müller was only 0.059 seconds behind Farfus and Priaulx was 0.004 seconds slower than Müller – the art of slipstreaming.
Best non-BMW was Robert Huff in the Chevrolet Lacetti, 0.109 seconds behind Farfus. Fourth was best SEAT-man, Gabriele Tarquini, in the diesel powered Léon.
Tarquini’s team mate Jordi Gené was sixth ahead of Alain Menu, Rickard Rydell, Nicola Larini and Yvan Muller in tenth.
The only vicitm of an accident was Félix Porteiro who span into the Parabolica and planting his car in the gravel and tyre wall.
A few of the drivers had problems at the first chicane, notably Farfus and Müller, the latter hitting his team mate as he followed his slipstream.
