The 2009 WTCC calendar is released

The FIA World Motor Sport Council has approved the draft for the 2009 World Touring Car Championship calendar. Twelve races are on the calendar, just as this year. The news are the street race at Marrakech, Morocco, and that the street race in Portugal, Porto, is back.

Just like this year the season starts in Brazil, Curitiba, and ends at Macau, despite the rumors of the season finale being held somewhere else.

Because the date of the Belgian Formula One Grand Prix has been moved to August 30, and is now in clash with the WTCC event in Germany, KSO and the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben are working together to move the meeting to September 6th.
